Ashtanga means ‘eight limbs’, which represents eight key aspects of yoga. In this class we work on the aspects which we can actively develop, such as breathing (pranayama) and poses (asanas), which allow us to access other 'limbs' such as meditation (dhyana).
This style of yoga follows a dynamic set sequence which is structured to detoxify and align the body. Breath and movement are sychronised, and in line with B.K.S. Iyengar's style of teaching, attention will be drawn to correct alignment in the core poses. This class is ideal for those who wish to master key yoga postures, and it easily allows you to monitor your progress.
This class is suitable for all levels, as poses will be demonstrated in a progressive way which makes it suitable for complete beginners or those with experience.
